Unadilla Township Special Meeting Minutes

October 13 and October 20, 2009

October 13 Meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m. for the purpose of Interviewing various attorneys.  No decisions or business was conducted at this meeting.  Meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m.  Meeting called to order at 9:40 a.m.  Present:  Walker, Topping, Mahler, Cowan, Weiland.  Also present were representatives from NF Engineering Steve Sutton, and Jeff Houta.  Also present was Doug Armstrong, who seeing a need in the area to offer this type of camp to children became involved in the process and fundraising to re-develop the camp by forming North Star Research.  North Star Research is re-developing the fresh air camp facility for the rehabilitation and enjoyment of health challenged children.  North Star Research will be leasing the property as a 501-3C Non-Profit Organization.  U of M, hospital still owns the Property.  Demolition is planned for some of the older buildings, they are working with the DEQ, DNR and many state and local agencies.  They plan to start construction this winter.  North Star Research engineers received information from the township regarding the planning process for site plan reviews and was given the Township Engineer and Township Planner information to contact.  No decisions or business was conducted at this meeting.  Motion Walker to adjourn at 10:10 a.m.  Support Cowan.  Carried.
