Meeting called to order by Supervisor Williams at 7:31 P.M. Pledge to flag. Roll: Present: Williams, Mahler, Cowan, Topping. Absent: Krueger. Consent Agenda: Agenda, Meeting minutes of May 8 regular meeting, Payment of bills. Topping requests we remove the attorney bill for discussion, noting the payment of attorney representing personal protection order was included. Township attorney gave a brief explanation of hearing. Motion Mahler support Topping to approve consent agenda as presented. Carried. Call to public. Sewer report given by Supervisor. Zoning report given by Clerk, with written report of updated permits. Planning Commission report by Trustee Cowan. Final site approval was given to N & K Marina. Clean up Day update by Trustee Cowan, It was very well attended approx. 190 cars came through. She thanked all the helpers who cleaned the sides of roads and helped that day. Road Report by Supervisor, first application of chloride was done. Letters went out regarding groundwater remediation project. Deputy Treasurer Schroeder attended a Lakeland Trails meeting, noting the DNR would not be maintaining the trails, they have no money. They would like the local governments to maintain for them. Police report given by Interim Chief Cook. He received a letter from merchant thanking Mike Newberry for checking doors after hours. All officers are now radar certified. Newberry is attending training on alcohol testing process. Shredder replaced at no charge. Mission statement complete, will take suggestions. Township attorney discussed options of enforcement misdemeanors and civil infractions, explaining the differences and procedures. Fire Dept. Report. Chief Schroeder had nothing to report. Motion Mahler support Cowan to approve reserve officer program. Carried. Motion Williams support Cowan to approve Charter Communications Cable Franchise Agreement. Carried. Motion Mahler support Cowan to approve payments to Gregory Sewer for Brown Well Drilling for $3959.34, withholding Tetra-Tech bills for review of more detail. Carried. Motion Mahler support Cowan to approve road closure for 4th of July. Carried. Motion Mahler support Topping to approve rental of porta-potties for 4th of July from Wild Sanitation, they will donate one and we will rent 3. Carried. Motion Mahler support Cowan to appoint William Cowan Jr. as reserve officer. Carried. Motion Williams support Mahler to approve GRIP road program selection of Barton and Roepke road repairs. Carried. Motion Cowan support Mahler to adopt resolution 603-1 to appoint Supervisor as Code or Enforcement Liaison. Carried. Motion Cowan support Mahler to approve Clifford Maschke agreement. Carried. Motion Mahler support Topping to approve resolution 603-2 Escrow Policy. Carried. Motion Topping support Mahler to adopt police ordinance # 03-3 Open Container of Alcohol. Carried. Motion Mahler support Topping to hold another Senior Help Day on Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 P.M., offering flu, pneumonia shots along with other helpful information for seniors. Carried.
