Unadilla Township Regular Meeting Minutes

                        June 11, 2009

 

 

Meeting called to order at 7:01 p.m.  Pledge to flag.  Present:  Walker, Topping, Mahler, Cowan, Weiland.  Absent: None.  Motion Mahler support Walker to approve agenda as amended.  Carried.  Motion Cowan support Walker to approve May minutes as amended.  Carried.  Motion Mahler support Weiland to approve bills as presented.  Carried.  Call to Public: none.  Planning Report: Topping reports the PUD ordinance is complete and a public meeting will be held on it.  Police Report: Chief Cook reports Triathlon went smoothly, Pastor Slusher honored Fire and Police personnel at the SW Church of the Nazarene last Sunday.  They are working on fee schedule updates.  Fire Report: Chief Schroeder reports they will be hosting a car wash that the Nazarene church is doing as a fundraiser.  Curtis reports that he’s been working on the outfitting the ranger, hopefully will come in under budget.  Delivery expected in August. Recreation Report by Cowan, she reports that they held open house at Unadilla Park that was well attended.  She thanked everyone involved for their help in plantings at the park and help with the recreation master plan.  Specifically thanked Weiland Trees for the tree donations, Tulip Tree for the compost and mulch and to Paul Risner from Stockbridge Township who spent several hours helping in our park.  Discussion on schoolhouse next to park in Unadilla, Supervisor to call owner to inquire about it. Clean up day also went very well and she thanked all the volunteers for helping.  Senior Report:  Mahler reports that the seniors are planning a trip to Frankenmuth, August 26th and anyone welcome, a $40.00 charge for non-members.    They are holding their Senior Prom this weekend. Zoning report available.  Unfinished Business: Lewis update, he brought several things to clean up day and will be reminded he needs to get his land use permit for building home.  Drain update: Mr. Recker has been shooting elevations and it appears they may be able to move the drain line and make the job cheaper.  Discussion on the drain problems at the mobile home estates, this is a private drain that work began on but came to a stand still after the DEQ would not let them drudge dredge it out.  Discussed special assessments to alleviate the problem.  New Business: Road gravel contract.  Motion Walker support Cowan to approve the Spears Road repair contract excluding # 5 of page 2.  Carried.  Motion Walker to approve assessor contract as presented.  Discussion on discounted rate, All in agreement we don’t want to lose Heidi, she’s excellent.  Support Mahler, Carried.  Motion Mahler support Walker to approve new computer for assessor to be able to go online and upload information for residents, real estate and mortgage firms.  Topping received bid from Fowlerville and checked online, our local, Victor from Signal computers was the cheapest with all the perks at $650.00.  Motion Carried.
