Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes
Meeting called to order by Supervisor Williams at 7:31 p.m. Present: Williams, Topping, Mahler, Krueger, Cowan. Absent: None. Pledge to flag led by Supervisor. Correspondence - read letter of appreciation received from Church of the Nazarene. If anyone has problems with Emerald Ash Borer please call township office by next Tuesday so it can be reported to the County. A donation of $100.00 was received from the American Legion Auxiliary toward AED for police dept. It will be used for restocking supplies and maintenance of AED. Thank You. Consent agenda set as presented. Carried. Motion Krueger support Mahler to approve bills as amended. Carried. First call to public: Sewer report: Still adding top soil and sidewalk repairs in Gregory. Final audit should be complete soon for Federal Grant. Zoning report handed out. Planning Commission report, Approved special use for Nazarene Church, Marhofer duplexes. Held public hearing on private road ordinance, parks and recreation plan discussed having public hearing next meeting. Also discussed Diefenthaler project. They will retain same officers for this coming year. Discussed goals for 2004. Clean Up Day went well. Cowan thanked workers and helpers. Public Safety Reports: Chief Cook for police dept. and Chief Schroeder for fire dept. The fire dept. will be holding a car wash and bake sale Saturday May 22 from 9 to 1. They logged 120 non-compensated hours for the month of April. New Business: Resolution read in recognition of Nick Lovachis by Supervisor Williams. Motion Mahler support Krueger to approve clerk filing papers for road closure for 4th of July parade. Carried. Motion Krueger support Mahler to approve fire works permit for 4th of July. Carried. Motion Topping support Krueger to approve resolution 504-02 change of sewer special assessment: removing one REU from 13-22-300-019, and adding one REU to 13-22-300-054. Roll vote: Ayes: Krueger, Williams, Mahler, Cowan, Topping. Nays: None. Absent: None. Resolution approved. Motion Krueger support Cowan to approve resolution 504-03 change of sewer special assessment. Removing one REU from 13-22-300-019 and adding one REU to 13-21-401-034. Roll vote: Ayes: Krueger, Williams, Mahler, Cowan, Topping. Nays: None. Absent: None. Resolution approved. Resolution 504-04 Police Department Millage Resolution. Motion Cowan support Mahler to approve the police department request a millage of 1.5 mills for 5 years. This proposal will restore the full amount of the previously authorized millage rate that expired in 2003. Roll vote: Yeas: Krueger, Williams, Mahler, Cowan, Topping. Nays: None. Absent: none. Resolution approved. Motion Krueger support Cowan to approve Resolution 504-05 Fire Department Millage Resolution to approve the fire department request a millage of 1 mill for 5 years. This proposal will restore the full amount of the previously authorized millage rate that expired in 2003. Roll vote: Ayes: Krueger, Williams, Mahler, Cowan, Topping. Nays: None. Absent: None. Resolution approved. Motion Krueger support Cowan to extend Assessor contract for another year with a $50.00 per month increase. Carried. Motion Williams support Topping to approve Carney / Hartsuff rezoning request on Church Street. Our planning commission and the county planning commission already approved this. Cowan opposed. Carried. Motion Cowan support Mahler to approve having a Senior Help Day in October. Carried. Motion Krueger to approve school lease agreement as is. Motion dies for lack of support. Motion Mahler support Cowan to approve school lease agreement pending phone costs. Carried. Motion Topping support Krueger to request the planning commission look at lot size requirements in the coming meetings. Carried. Final call to public.
