Unadilla Township Regular Meeting Minutes
May 11, 2006
Meeting called to order at 7:02 p.m. Pledge to flag. Present: Peterson, Topping, Mahler, Krueger, Cowan. Absent: None. Motion Mahler support Krueger to approve agenda. Carried. Motion Krueger support Peterson to approve consent agenda items, minutes of April 13, 2006 and bills as presented. Carried. Call to public: None. Reports: Zoning: written report available. Planning: Presented by Krueger. Recreation: Presented by Cowan, note clean up day this Saturday. Senior Program: Presented by Mahler. Looking to start serving noon meals later this month, contact Bonnie for volunteers. Peterson wanted to thank Mick Watters who donated his time mowing the Lakeland Trail. Police Report: Officer Flannery has offered to donate his ATV for patrol on trail. They will be holding a car wash on May 21 and 22 for police equipment at the fire hall. Fire Report: Mobile Data Computer not installed yet, but was purchased by the County. Some fire personnel attending fireworks training, and fire 1 & 2 classes. Unfinished Business: Due to a publication error, the township planning, county planning and township board re-heard this rezoning request. Motion Peterson support Topping to approve of Blaisdell rezoning, Cowan opposed. Carried. New Business: Motion Krueger support Peterson to adopt proposed changes in Articles 9 through 13, table of contents, schedule of regulations and footnotes, amending footnote j to 40 feet and 80 feet respectively. Opposed Cowan. Carried. Lawn Bids: Lawn bids were opened, Motion Peterson support Cowan to approve lowest bid of $45.00 for mowing Unadilla ball field, pending they meet our insurance and bond requirements, if they don’t meet our expectations, motion to go to next lowest bid on up until requirements are met. Carried. Fire and Police Cost Recovery Ordinance: Motion Peterson support Mahler to approve of our cost recovery ordinance as presented. Roll Vote: Yeas, Cowan, Mahler, Peterson, Krueger, Topping. Nays: None. Carried. Police Reserve Officer Policy: Motion Peterson support Cowan to approve the reserve policy as amended. Roll vote: Yeas, Cowan, Mahler, Peterson, Krueger, Topping. Nays: None. Carried. Gregory Sewer REU change: Motion Topping support Mahler to approve REU changes, remove one from 13-22-300-019, add one to 13-22-300-030. Carried. Farmers Market: Discussion of starting a small farmers market in Gregory, any residents interested please call Bonnie at the township 734-498-2502. Dismantled Car Ordinance: Motion Krueger support Topping to amend the current dismantled car ordinance fine portion from $100.00 to $500.00, this is what the Michigan Township Ordinance calls for, this is the only amendment to our current ordinance. Carried.
