May 8'th, 2003

Members present:  Krueger, Williams, Mahler, and Cowan.  Topping absent.  Topping entered at 8:25 P.M.  Williams calls meeting to order at 7:35 P.M.  Williams motions to amend agenda, removing item 9E, selection of roads for the Grip program, information not available.  Hearing no other changes. agenda is set.  Krueger motions to approve consent agenda items, Mahler seconds.  Consent agenda items passed.  Williams gives sewer report.  Multi Lakes Sewer does not want to work with Livingston County Building Department.  There could now have to be two inspections done which could cost homeowners more money.  Williams will continue to work with the Building Department.  Zoning Administrator, Pat Davison, handed out a copy of this years land use permits.  Cowan gives Planning Commission report.  Next months planning meeting they will be discussing kennel language and will have public hearings for R-3 and R-4 and for Marina Language.  N&K Marina's preliminary site plan passed with revisions.  Cowan reports everything is in order for Township Clean Up Day.  Williams gives report on roads, they should start to chloride around May 19'th depending on the rain.  Public Safety Commissioner Krueger discusses the disposal of the cage from the old Caprice cruiser.  Interim Police Chief Cook reports 241 service calls for the month.  Youth offenders doing a good job in cleaning around the Police Department and Township Hall.  The Police Department received three computer systems from the County computer give away.  Two cruisers are up to date on service.  Victory Ford installed fuel tank safety shield.  Fire Chief Mark Schroeder gives report - the tanker is at Certified for carburetor service.  No non action correspondence.  No unfinished business.  Krueger motions to extend HSC Services, Inc. contact.  Cowan seconds, all in favor, motion carries.  Gregory sewer payments of $290,364.84 to Clarke, Inc. and $1,789.67 to Tetra Tech MPS - Mahler motions to approve payment but would like to hold the check until all work is complete.  Cowan seconds, all in favor, motion carries.  Approval of Gregory sewer change order - Williams states this will be a decrease in cost, Krueger motions to approve, Mahler seconds, all in favor, motion carries.  Reserve police officer program - Interim Police Chief Cook addresses the Board requesting to adopt this program.  Krueger motions to adopt this pending legal opinion, Mahler seconds.  Attorney Anne Sernuyck comments on ordinance, therefore Cowan makes motion to amend the previous motion, Interim Chief Cook can start looking for candidates and Board will wait to consider this program until next month's meeting.  Krueger seconds the amendment, all in favor, motion carries.  Topping joins meeting at 8:25 P.M.  Resolution amending the zoning ordinance of Unadilla Township.  Mahler motions to table for further discussion and would like to have planning board look into expanding commercial and industrial areas.  Krueger seconds, all in favor, item tabled.  Krueger motions to approve fireworks permit, Mahler seconds, all in favor, Motion carries.  Krueger motions to adjourn meeting Mahler seconds motion.  Meeting adjourns at 8:55 P.M.
