Unadilla Township Board Regular Meeting Minutes
Meeting called to order at 7:01 p.m. Present: Topping, Krueger, Cowan. Absent: Peterson, Mahler. Motion Cowan support Krueger to approve consent agenda items including Minutes of March 17, March 30, and payment of bills as amended. Carried. Call to Public: None. Zoning Report: Topping presented written report, showing 8 new home permits this year, so far. Planning Report: Cowan reported they approved their officers at last meeting, DeMint is chairperson, Spadafore is vice-chairperson, Cox is secretary. They re-set their meeting dates for the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Public hearings set to amend fence ordinance. They will be interviewing planners at their next meeting. Recreation Report: Krueger reports that they are looking at improvements in Unadilla Park, held their first “Turkey Day” last Saturday and was well attended. They are looking at grants and offering some sort of food program for elderly out of the school. Waste Management Report: Cowan reports they held their quarterly meeting, Howell will have compost bins available for $20.00 this Saturday, fliers available. On Saturday April 23rd they are having their Hazardous Waste Program. Clean up day grant looks like we will get it, still has to go before the County Board of Commissioners. Police Report given by Public Safety Officer Krueger, Chief Cook was called out on a call. He stressed that there have been many daytime break-ins lately all around the county. Officers Russell and Hamlin are attending interviewing and linguistics training at Oakland Police Academy. Our reserve officers continue to put in a lot of community service hours for our department. Fire Report: Chief Schroeder reports they will be having a mass casualty incident training program April 30th in county. No burn permits will be issued; county has a ban on, because of the dry weather. They will be having a teaching program after the SW Church of the Nazarene service Sunday, public welcome. Correspondence: Topping read letter from Stockbridge Area Ambulance Inc. regarding funding. Currently Unadilla Township compromises 15% of their annual runs. Based on their cost share analysis our portion of their budget would be $10,950.00 annually. Motion Cowan support Topping to appoint Mike DeMint to the planning commission. Carried. Motion Topping support Krueger to approve bid from Mr. Smith to clean and wax floors at the township hall for $130.00 per time plus the cost of the wax, cleaning to be done as needed probably quarterly. Carried. Motion Krueger support Cowan to approve Tumbarella as zoning enforcement officer; pay to be $11.50 per hour, with a 3-month probationary period. Carried. Motion Krueger support Cowan to put ad in paper for lawn mowing bids. Carried. Final call to public: None. Adjourn at 7:25 p.m.
