Joint meeting of Township Board, Planning Commission and area farmers. Planning Commission Members Present: Schmidt, Sutter, Cowan, Smith. Absent: DeMint. Township Board Members Present: Williams, Topping, Cowan. Absent: Krueger, Mahler. Meeting called to order at 7:03 p.m. by Supervisor Williams with a pledge to the flag. Meeting turned over to the Planning Commission. Motion Smith support Sutter to set public hearing for rezoning request from Hartsuff/Carney for March 23rd, 2004 regular planning meeting. Carried. Chairman Scmidt explained the purpose of the meeting and explained that they had already met with Downtown Business owners and a group representing affordable housing and this was an informational meeting only to gather and share information. The planning commission wanted to get perspective from the farmers and offer them an opportunity to address zoning issues. Several farmers spoke and offered insight on the issues that they face day to day. Discussed regulations already in effect from State, DEQ, County, etc. and they want Unadilla to not add to the burden of regulations facing them. Discussed property divisions and allowing smaller splits to allow continued farming and not eat up so much of the land. Meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
